A common fig genus in Hong Kong, the Red Stem Fig (ficus variegata) is perhaps not as striking or impressive as the Chinese Banyan (ficus microcarpa) but it does have its moments.
While the specie is generally evergreen, some mature members become decidous. When these change their leaves, there are rare moments when the whole foliage transforms itself into a bright yellow display, as evident in this representation.
The colour is slightly exaggerated, thanks to my photo editor, but it isn’t too far from the real thing.
