The flowers of the Hainan Elaeocarpus (elaeocarpus hainanensis 水石榕) are shaped like little bells and hang in groups amongst its densely spaced leaves. The blooms droop downwards, quite opposite its leaves, which typically point upwards in clusters at the end of its branches.
This particular specimen is located on the north side of Statue Square opposite the HSBC building.
