Old and valuable tree of Hong Kong LCSD WCH/16: Chinese Banyan

This ‘Old and valuable’ Chinese Banyan sits about 5 metres away from another Old and valuable tree of Hong Kong – a Spider Tree – in Wanchai Park.

It is an excellent example of Chinese Banyan, with strong aerial roots surrounding a robust trunk, supporting an expansive crown with evergreen foliage.

What makes this individual somewhat unique is its location, which gives coverage to several Chinese chess tables that attract lots of regular patrons.
