Fall cotton

Often overlooked fall foliage from one of Hong Kong’s most iconic species, the Cotton tree (bombax ceiba).

While the species is better know from its bright red flowers and woolly seed pods, their leaves,  which are changed regularly can sometimes yield brilliant shades of yellow.

Contrast with the straight, sparsely occupied limbs, the composition is stunning.
