Update: 2-faced Banyan in peril

2 views of the same Chinese Banyan (ficus microcarpa), on Caine Road and Hospital Road.

Recent reports said this particular tree has been infected with Brown Root disease. Fortunately, the government is tryng hard to find a solution to save it instead of just cutting it down.

According to the reports, the tree has a canopy spanning some 27 metres and is 17 metres tall. It’s exact age is unknown but it is registered as an “Old and Valuable” tree of Hong Kong.
