Transitions

  • Specie: Golden Rain (koelreuteria bipinnata)
  • Location: Robinson Road, bus stop at the corner of Seymour Road

It isn’t often that I get the chance to witness the transition from flower to fruit with such stark clarity as this Golden Rain tree on Robinson Road. Over the past couple of weeks, this tree has bloomed, showing its bright yellow flowers. Then those flowers matured and became bright pink fruit.

The first hints of yellow flowers…

To full bloom…

Beginning of fruit…

To bright pink fruits…

It is a shame the zoom on my Huawei P9 just isn’t good enough to capture close ups of the tree top, where the flowers and fruits are, but you get the idea.
