- Species: Golden Shower (cassia fistula)
- Location: Connaught Road and Pedder Street roundabout
There is a type of tree called ‘Golden Shower’ (cassia fistula 臘腸樹), with beautiful yellow flowers that dangled like liquid beads from long, slender branches.

They are pretty rare in Hong Kong, and are typically found inside parks, such as a couple around the carp pond inside Kowloon Park, another on a path near Kennedy Road in Hong Kong Park, and another in a park on the corner of Caine Road and Seymour Road.
So imagine my surprise when I spotted this Golden Rain hanging out without a care in the world in the middle of the busy roundabout on Connaught Road outside Exchange Square.
