HK’s cotton trees paint the town red

Hong Kong is home to some of the most spectacular Cotton trees (木棉), also known as Kapok trees, or formally, bombax ceiba in Latin. The bright red flowers light up the city when they bloom in the spring, attracting birds and onlookers alike.

Places where cotton trees can be found in full bloom (at the right time) in Hong Kong: Cotton Tree Drive (obviously), Hong Kong Park, Connaught Garden, Victoria Park, Cheung Chau Island.
